As a Full Professor of Economics and Quantitative Analysis at PennWest University, I bring research and industry experience into the classroom—and help students connect analytical skills to their next step.

My teaching spans applied quantitative analysis, economics, and applied econometrics, with an emphasis on understanding and interpretation.
QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS
Business analytics and statistics connect quantitative methods to practical questions. The aim is to understand both the calculation and the decision it informs.

PENNWEST NEWS
Kara Hooppell and Matthew J. Posego developed Applied Econometrics projects under my guidance and earned two of the 24 presentation slots at the Cleveland Fed’s April 17, 2026 Economic Scholars Program. Their research explored inflation surprises and exchange rates, and hospital consolidation and patient pricing. I also accompanied ECON Connect members for presentations, career panels, and conversations with economists.
PENNWEST NEWS
Diletta Mungo and Wayeera Robertson turned class projects into research selected for the Cleveland Fed’s 2025 Economic Scholars Program. Working with me, they investigated women’s leadership and company performance, and how ownership and deregulation relate to residential electricity prices. PennWest’s story follows their preparation and the peer-review process behind their selection.

I led the organization of the enterprise Data Science and Quantitative Analysis Job Family Mentorship Program and designed its mentor–mentee matching algorithm.

I want students and colleagues to leave with more than an answer: the confidence to frame a question, evaluate evidence, and explain a decision.
My background includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Washington State University, including Ph.D.-level econometrics and advanced macroeconomics.
